monogram mania

I love this! On the wall or dance floor. I am currently looking at where to find one and how much they cost. Has anybody used one? I can't decide if I like a single letter or standard monogram.

best wedding venues in Kentucky

Headley Whitney-Lexington
I am in love with this place. It was my number 1 pick IF I was brave enough to do an outdoor wedding. I am to chicken and August in KY is not pleasant! I decided to have my bridal portraits here though. I took the first pic myself. How fabulous would this be for cocktail hour in the garden? The second pic I found on the Knot. The photographer is Red Tree out of Louisville.

well rehearsed

Found this fabulous site that specializes in planning rehearsal dinners. I love how they used this couples favorite sports team as the theme. I am all about putting personal touches into every aspect possible! Here are some photos from the gallery.

The groom's favorite hobby is woodworking and the bride used that as the inspiration. Read the cute invite!

I would love to incorporate some personal touches into my rehearsal dinner. I have some ideas brewing... will share them later! What personal touches are you using for your rehearsal dinner? Or wedding?

marvelous monograms

I want a custom monogram for my wedding. I have been playing around trying to design one on the computer. I like these because they are traditional/whimsical. I want to use my monogram for paper products, cake, and a gobo-budget permitting. Do you have a custom monogram? What are you using if for?

Now that's what I'm talking about! Loving all of these shades. Minus the big hat and short dress. Great Derby outfit, but not wedding.

Hope my photographer agrees! I think you should always have in mind what you want. Tell your photographer before. Then you won't miss out on any pictures. My photographer is already asking me to send him pictures I like. He is great. Check him out Bella Grace Studios

Note to self. The temperature in KY in August..... Must have cooler stocked for wedding party!!

Great inspirational blog. They feature real weddings, Southern wedding of the week, great photos and links.

Fabulous ideas!

Great real weddings. LOVE the SEC school spirit weddings! Of course it would be even better if they were UK...still very cute.

for the color challenged...

If you are having trouble thinking of your color palette or don't know how to combine your favorite colors go to Colour Lovers. You can create your own color palette. You can even use an image from the internet as your inspiration. Here is one I created with my colors:
                           Kentucky Wedding

You can also use Big Huge Labs. You download a picture and it generates your colors. This is a picture behind my reception spot. You can use any photo that inspires you.

I am still tweaking the colors a bit. I am thinking of blue for the bridesmaids dresses, green for linens and brown for accents. I am wanting a little lighter green. More minty rather than olive.I recommend choosing your location and then your colors. If I were getting married in a ballroom I would have never chosen these colors. My location has views of horse farms and has a barn type atmosphere. I am going for earthy, rustic elegance.

Pick your colors wisely! It is the base of all your other decisions. Flowers, bridesmaids,cake.....
